EVENTS SOUS CHEF

Our Events require a creative and innovative touch and we are looking for an experienced SOUS CHEF to join our EVENTS team in the KITCHEN!


Help lead and inspire our Events & Catering offering, working collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen to provide menu items that provide unforgettable experiences for our guests. As Sous Chef you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the preparation and production of meals at the Grounds.

Working in the Events Kitchen will require evening and weekend availability, and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


  • Assisting in overseeing and directing all aspects of Kitchen operations, providing functional assistance 
  • Responsible for food preparation and production
  • Managing and coordinating food supply and stock ordering 
  • Assisting Head Chef in new menu production, and menu tasting 
  • Ensuring the consistent and smooth running of food production
  • Ensuring effective stock purchasing and waste control
  • Assisting in the training and mentorship of junior and apprentice chefs 
  • Oversee the writing and costing of all kitchen rosters via Deputy
  • Approve correct time sheets, resolving any timesheet issues
  • Set high levels of work ethic standards by adopting a ‘Hands On’ management style 
  • Ensure kitchen safety and cleanliness is adhered to in all kitchens and food storage areas
  • Assist with the preparation and production of food at Events when required 
  • Produce all dishes to a consistent high standard
  • Ensure all kitchen activities meet with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and duty of care
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are carefully adhered to


To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated substantial cooking experience in a similar role with an obvious passion to develop your skills and career. Your attention to detail is unrivalled and your time management unquestionable. Salary is $65,000 - $70,000 dependent on experience, plus superannuation
