We’re on the hunt for an experienced Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry team. Your role will involve creating a variety of desserts, pastries, and sweet treats, with an emphasis on creativity and high-quality execution. What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience:


  • Full Australian working rights
  • Minimum 2 years in a kitchen management role
  • Strong background in Italian cuisine
  • Experience in menu creation
  • Food Handling Certificate
  • Proven team management skills
  • Knowledge of hospitality cost control measures
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Impeccable attention to detail and grooming standards
  • Formal culinary qualifications with pastry experience

Preferred Requirements:


  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Experience making fresh pasta
  • Italian language skills (a bonus!)
  • Venue opening experience

Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare a range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods using both traditional and modern recipes
  • Oversee the pastry section and collaborate with executive and sous chefs to ensure smooth operations
  • Innovate and develop new dessert recipes to enhance the menu and captivate customers
  • Perform quality control to ensure consistency in taste and presentation
  • Decorate pastries to ensure visually appealing and creative displays
  • Experiment with ingredients, techniques, and flavor combinations to stay ahead of trends
  • Train and mentor junior staff, fostering growth and teamwork
  • Monitor and manage stock levels for baking ingredients and communicate ordering needs
  • Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, safe workspace, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively to achieve team goals
