Pastry Cook

Catalina Rose Bay is an award-winning restaurant offering a fine dining experience with stunning views overlooking Sydney Harbour. The menu features high quality modern Australian cuisine with an emphasis on fresh local ingredients and sustainability.

The Position is for a Full Time Pastry Cook.

Duties include:

  • Preparing, cooking and plating desserts
  • Making bread, pastry, ice cream and sorbets for both a la carte and function dining and
  • Providing back-up for the Head Pastry Chef

The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Maintaining strict kitchen procedures, including following Occupational Health and Safety, and Food Safety protocols
  • Ordering of perishable goods
  • Stock control and stock rotation and
  • Ensuring that all mise-en-place within the pastry section has been completed to a high standard on a daily basis.

To be considered for this position, the applicant must have relevant qualifications and/or employment experience. Experience working as a pastry cook in a fine dining commercial kitchen is required. The applicant must have had sufficient training and on-the-job experience to be able to work independently. The successful applicant needs to be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000
