Where to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Sydney & Brisbane

Would you look at that? It’s *finally* December and it’s time to start planning how you’re going to ring in the new year. We’d say time flies when you’re having fun, but after the year that was, we can safely say ‘time drags when you’re living in a pandemic’.

While it’s fun living in the now and being spontaneous, 2021 celebrations will look a little different this year due to COVID-19 and it’s important to stay on top of the guidelines in your state. This means it’s best to start planning and booking early to avoid disappointment.

With a plethora of bars and restaurants to choose from, we’ve listed top venues across Sydney and Brisbane offering epic celebrations and packages for the evening.

Celebrate the new year in style at ARIA with unrivaled views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. ARIA encompasses the best seasonal produce and a world-class wine list thanks to owners Matt Moran and Bruce Solomon and Executive Chef Joel Bickford. The venue is offering two dining packages for New Year’s Eve. Diners are guaranteed a meal as spectacular as the views, with a four-course and six-course tasting menu available and premium Champagne. If you’re wanting to indulge in a truly luxurious evening, then look no further.

Barangaroo House

You’ll find Barangaroo House where land meets sea, sitting pretty on the water’s edge. The perfect location to enjoy the culinary delights of Tom Haynes, indulge in delicious cocktails, and bask in the views of Darling Harbour and Sydney’s famous firework display. The three-level venue means you can choose from the House Bar, Bea Restaurant or Smoke Rooftop this New Year’s Eve. The House Bar welcomes walk-ins and will have a DJ adding to the vibes throughout the evening. Bea Restaurant is taking bookings with A La Carte favourites available as well as a special NYE kids menu. Smoke Rooftop is fully booked but there might be a chance to get on the waitlist (fingers crossed for some early cancellations.)
